Not Your Grandparent's Funeral Home...
Join us tomorrow (8/3) for a Community Playdate with Funeral Director, Brooke Benjamin!
Confession time. In my mind’s eye, I half expected to pull up to a nondescript brick building with satin or suede curtains, a black awning, and to be greeted with someone that reminded me of a used car salesperson. When I pulled up to Inclusive Funeral Care, it was clear that I needed to check my stereotypes.
My coffee meet up with funeral director and celebrant, Brooke Benjamin, who part of the genius behind Inclusive Funeral Care, had none of that inherited prejudice. She and her space and her work were more like a warm hug and meeting an old friend - a friend who also happens to have a deep and wide knowledge of the death care industry and a real commitment to fill in some of the gaping holes in the ways death is held and carried in the United States.
If you’ve ever wanted to ask a funeral director a question, Brooke is the funeral director to ask! Here’s a couple that I’m bringing with me:
What are the biggest mistakes families and friends make after someone has died?
How do you handle the stress and being so close to grief and death on the daily?
Can you share a wacky, joyful, playful thing you’ve seen families and friends do to celebrate a life?
It’s not too late for you to join us and get your questions asked, too. Bring ‘em all! And, drop them in the comments to help get our collective wheels turning.
RSVP here (or click the button below). It’s an hour and a playdate you don’t want to miss!
Loved the playdate today with Brooke Benjamin! Thank you so much!!
